Final Stages!
Howdy everyone! Today I have just uploaded a large batch of the new, formatted sourcebook. This section covers all chapters from the Introduction (now called A Welcoming) through all of the character options.
I wanted to discuss timelines for full release and current points in development. The following chapters need to be written from existing game material, both from within and without the sourcebook:
- Encounters (Combat)
- Rules for Adventure (previously Other Rules)
- The World of Elarinos (the lore & setting)
The following chapters are currently being redesigned for further improvements on usability and quality of life for players and GMs:
- Equipment
- specifically, rebalancing prices and the encumbrance system
- Being a Game Master
- Writing out guides on creating custom spells and creatures
- Creation of session 0 tools as well as recommending the use of various safety tools.
- The Bestiary
- to facilitate easier creation of new creatures for GM's as well as to implement a 'point-buy' creature ability system
I am expecting work on this should complete within the next few months. At which point, it will be added to the download list as playtest material. Once that feels good, final formatting and creation of the sourcebook PDF will begin. With good fortune, this should mean the full release of Umbrus will be sometime in late summer or early autumn of this year.
